Great design and Square's POS system.

Square’s POS system.

People and things.
Making physical things which form an important part of our lives.

Design makes “things” successful. But, what is good design? What does it mean to you? Design is the interface to the outside world.

BRAND.
It’s a highly misunderstood thing. You don’t own your brand. Brands are not identities. Real experiences or logos. Brand is a gut feeling about . It’s not what YOU say it is. You can only influence the brand. The product and the identity are the brand. Establish a relationship and communicate what’s important.

TECHNOLOGY.
The very important thing – technology enables, but design establishes. Design of a company, a product or a company is influenced by the huge impact of the design.

MONEY.
Venture capital influencing the partnerships and new products. Build partnerships where we as designers can participate together. What are the extraordinary assets. Audience. Distribution. Intellectual capital.

RISK.
Take a risk. It’s not a four-letter work, but risk and innovation are linked together. What can you DO different than your competitor?

THE OBJECT.
It’s not the object. It’s about the thing behind the object. Creating a whole experience behind the object. The things that make it special are the things behind the object.

SQUARE.
Developing the point of purchase system for SQUARE was developed by Robert Brunner. An iconic designer who’s influenced the world of design. For $99 retailers can turn their iPad and the Square reader into a point of purchase system. Affordable. Simple. Great design.

The power of imagination is incredible. Design gives people expression. Design gives objects that we use so expressively – purpose. Think about design. Think about your business. How does the design you share express your company, your product or yourself?
